Live your life free of pain!
I am a New York State Licensed and Board Certified Massage Therapist who has worked with hundreds of clients. Conveniently located near the Union Square, East Village, and Gramercy Park neighborhoods, I specialize in chronic pain relief, postural alignment, and mobility. This means that I focus on helping: Athletes (professional and recreational), i.e. marathon runners, snowboarders, fitness buffs, dancers, and others injured while doing sports & fitness. Repetitive Stress Injury sufferers, i.e. office workers, desk sitters, high heel walkers, and backpack carriers. Recovering patients, i.e. car accident victims, recent surgery patients, patients trying to avoid surgery, and chronic illness sufferers. My work is primarily a blend of Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Medical Massage, and Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques. Sessions are focused on alleviating your pain, tension, and restrictions, improving your alignment, and enabling you to move freely. Whether it’s running marathons, writing novels, or lifting up your child for a squeeze, my goal is to help you do what you love for as long as you love to do it! My work is uniquely defined in three big ways: Tailored to you: We’re not treating a condition; we’re treating a person. Just because two people have the same injury doesn’t mean they will both respond in the same way to identical treatments. A customized, individual treatment plan is developed to help you best achieve your personal health goals. Targeting therapeutic goals: To achieve long-lasting benefits of your massage therapy sessions, the work is goal oriented. Not only do we focus on alleviating pain and tension, but we work towards specific functional goals, such as walking for more than 1 mile without muscle cramping, getting back into cycling, typing for more than 5 minutes without numbness in the fingers, getting down on the floor to play with grandkids, walking up and down subway stairs instead of splurging on cabs, and getting out of bed in the morning without muscle spasms. Evidence-based: My work is informed by the latest research - and fortunately, massage therapy research has been exploding in recent years. I combine this with extensive experience and continuous advanced education courses taught by leading health and bodywork educators. Evidence-based practice also includes the valuable information you bring regarding your health history, your experiences, and your treatment goals. Book your first session today and begin increasing the quality of your life!

Therapeutic Bodywork in context of Traditional Thai Massage
Do your body a favor
As a graduate of the Swedish Institute I have developed strong skills in both Western and Eastern styles of massage. My training has given me a solid knowledge base in the biosciences, and an emphasis on integration of these components into practical applications. The study of anatomy, physiology and pathology has provided me with the foundation needed to develop confident therapeutic skills. Before my decision to specialize in Thai Massage, I studied and practiced Swedish massage and have integrated advanced Western modalities such as medical massage, sports massage, myofascial techniques and trigger point therapy. Five-Element Shiatsu provides an Eastern perspective which emphasizes the flow of Qi, or energy, through the body. Eastern and Western modalities are incorporated into my work. Clinical strategies, assessment and ethics are also a part of my professional development. My initial goal upon beginning a career in massage therapy was to practice medical massage. In the last semester at Swedish Institute, we were asked to choose electives. During the first five weeks of the semester I studied Thai Massage. I will always remember exactly how my partner was stretching me when I decided that this modality is superior to all those that I had previously been exposed to. That same day I began to make plans to study in Thailand. If you are a fellow massage therapist who has an interest in Thai Massage, feel free to enquire in an email message about working together to extend this wonderful tradition. I periodically get requests for couples massage and would like to increase my options for practitioners to work with.
Amber Massage
Massage Therapist
New York, NY 10001
I’m a massage therapist with magic hands to satisfy you.
My name is Amber, and I am a licensed massage therapist dedicated to providing both compassionate care and clinically effective bodywork. My journey into massage therapy began with a genuine desire to help people feel better in their bodies—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for how therapeutic touch can support healing and improve overall quality of life. I take a personalized and evidence-informed approach with every client. I start by listening—understanding your concerns, your goals, and how your body feels day to day. From there, I design a tailored treatment plan that may include techniques such as: • Swedish & Deep Tissue Massage • Therapeutic/Medical Massage • Sports Massage • Trigger Point Therapy • Myofascial Release • Neuromuscular Techniques • Prenatal Massage • Lymphatic Drainage • Hot Stone & Aromatherapy • Cupping Therapy • Reflexology • Assisted Stretching and Mobility Work Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing chronic tension, coping with stress, or seeking support during pregnancy, I focus on providing safe, effective, and targeted therapy that respects your body’s unique needs. My goal is to help each client experience meaningful relief, better movement, and a greater sense of overall balance. What truly drives me in this work is seeing people regain comfort, confidence, and ease in their bodies. I’m grateful for every opportunity to support someone’s healing process and to create a space where they feel cared for, understood, and genuinely supported.

Regular and Consistent Shiatsu Treatments Can Become An
Important Part of Preventive Health Care and Treatment
Health Consultant: Health Counseling is a unique, exciting innovation in health and nutrition. As a Health Counselor, I have studied all the major dietary theories and will help you discover what approach works best for you at this point in your life. While most dietitians dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, restrictions and lists of good and bad foods, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline. No one diet works for everyone. I will guide you to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support you. I will also help you to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals. Ohashiatsu Consultant: Shiatsu refers to a Japanese pressure therapy used to relieve a variety of problems including back pain, neck and shoulder problems, stress, insomnia, digestive problems and fatigue. It is based on traditional Chinese medicine techniques that have been used since ancient times with Japanese innovations. It is a form of bodywork administered by thumbs, fingers, palms, elbows, feet and knees. This technique stimulates the natural healing powers of the body and mind, wherefore symptoms of disease lessen and vitality is regained. By helping with blood and lymph circulation, it maintains and improves muscle tone and healthy internal organ functions. It is believed that Shiatsu can also strengthen the immune system and calm the nervous system which increases resistance to disease and stress. Regular and consistent Shiatsu treatments can become an important aspect of preventive health care as well as treatment for existing symptoms.

Center for Ancient Japanese Shiatsu Healing —self-realization through movement, meditation, breathwork, and massage— The Five Lights Center is the oldest Shiatsu practice in America and is located in New York City. We offer private and group sessions, as well as training in alternative Eastern treatments for mind and body wellness. What is Shiatsu? Shiatsu is a bodywork that was developed in Japan in the 19th century. It is based on traditional Chinese medicine techniques that are more than 3000 years old and still practiced in many forms today. The Japanese Zen Shiatsu Acupressure Tsubo focuses on the meridians or five points of energy that flow through the body. Shiatsu cultivates an awareness of how energy can stop flowing and how it can be restored to flow correctly. Teachings include an awareness of self and others and the connection of mind to a body that will lead to improved health, vitality, and well-being. The benefits of practicing Shiatsu may include improvements in mood disorders, insomnia, digestive issues, and may reduce muscle and joint pain. Best of all, Shiatsu can provide lasting overall health benefits. What are our offerings? Education is the foundation of all programs at the Five Lights Center. Enhanced sleep quality. Greater energy. Improved concentration. Increased circulation. Reduced fatigue.

Relax. Re-Align. Rejuvenate Your Soul.
I am a NY Licensed Massage Therapist who for many years has followed a more natural and holistic approach to life. Educated at the highly regarded Finger Lakes School of Massage, I went on to become certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. For many years as an artist, I used my hands to sculpt and mold many different mediums. I found art to be therapeutic and meditative. "Art fuels the soul." After a traumatic injury, I was given the gift of therapeutic massage sessions to aid in recovery. The increased range of motion and reduction of scar tissue was amazing! Learning that massage therapy had many medical benefits opened my eyes to new possibilities. Massage therapy is transformative, both physically and mentally. I made the choice to walk down a new path, one that still enabled me to "sculpt" with my hands, and transform lives anew. But massage therapy doesn't just have medical benefits. Taking time out for oneself has many mental and spiritual benefits as well. We need to care for ourselves first, in order for us to care for others. Stress reduction, decreased recovery time, improved immune system functions, relief from tension headaches, better sleep - What's not to love about massage therapy? Compassionate, intuitive, with an ability to find those spots of tension you never even realized you had. Understanding the importance of a healthy body and realizing that many ailments can be treated with touch therapies fuels my ambitions to continue learning, exploring, and helping people. Through my training in many different massage therapy techniques, I design full body and target-specific therapeutic sessions customized to the needs of individual clients. Each massage is unique. A gift to you. I believe in the power of therapeutic body awareness. I welcome you to indulge in deep relaxation and physical healing. Relax. Re-align. Rejuvenate your soul.
