Not only will I consider the information you've written, but I will listen to what you have to say about your activities of daily living (ADLs) in order to get an overview of what repetitive strain you may be placing on your musculoskeletal system, including emotional stress which reflects in the tissues. After the physical evaluation, which doesn't take but 15 minutes or so, the session will begin. All pressure will be gauged to your comfort level. I'll explain what I am doing and why, unless, of course, you prefer peace and quiet... which I will respect. When the session is complete, I'll wait for you in the next room where I'll provide and explain your self-care instructions. There is no cost for the evaluation and self-care. I am a deep tissue massage therapist/bodyworker. I specialize in Synergistic Myofascial Therapy. That is a form of very deep tissue myofascial work. The body work is performed on a table on top of the sheets. The client wears shorts (men), or sports bra and shorts or bathing suit (women). There is active movement on the part of the client and a good amount of stretching is involved. There is also little or no lotion involved. It is not a relaxing massage but very effective for athletes or people with chronic tight spots and problem areas. I am also undergoing certification in Active Isolated Stretching under Aaron Mattes.
