Leslie Girmscheid, MD, LMT, NCTMB
My practice has evolved over the years. While many people prefer a spa for relaxation, clients who choose a private practitioner often come with musculoskeletal complaints. I took further training in neuromuscular therapy, positional release techniques and medical/orthopedic massage therapies to address the numerous discomfort and pain problems that are presented to me. I enjoy helping in the care and management of chronic pain issues, "weekend warrior" pain, chronic postural discomfort as seen in desk jockeys, overuse syndromes such as tennis and golfer's elbow, frozen shoulders, headaches and TMJ pain, discomfort in the prenatal and postpartum periods, fibromyalgia, plantar fasciitis, and stress related muscle tightness in any adult age group.
I utilize many of the techniques listed above, but unify them using Swedish massage so that the result is relaxing as well as therapeutic. Many of my patients who come to me for a specific problem, return on a regular basis for overall wellness massage.
I enjoy the ability to get to know and care for each of my clients and even address medical topics for educational purposes. Many like to discuss health topics such a nutrition while on the table, while others prefer quiet. Either is fine.
