I have been in practice for over 20 years in the Portsmouth area. My style is eclectic in nature, utilizing the many techniques I have learned over years of giving massage and taking continuing education courses. I specialize in several massage and bodywork techniques including Deep Tissue/Deep Muscle, Muscle Release, Pregnancy Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, Energy Work and Onsite Chair Massage. I tailor my sessions to accommodate the preferences and needs of my clients. Of course the fundamental techniques of Swedish massage with it's continuous effleurage strokes, deep kneading and stretching of tense muscles almost always shows up in a session to allow full body integration to take place. Some form of Thai massage is often included or can be given as a separate treatment on it's own. I have a special table for Pregnant clients so they are able to comfortably and safely lie face down on the table. On-Site Chair Massage or Corporate massage is another vibrant aspect of my practice. A 15 minute massage is administered in a specially designed chair while clients are fully dressed. Great for parties or gatherings as well. I also instruct my clients in self-care techniques to ensure that healing and lifelong well-being is supported.

Knowing that postural habits are the usual cause for our pain and that every client is unique, I perform a free physical evaluation before your session, which is crucial to the success of massage therapy. Not only is my practice about the work, but it is of utmost importance to me that you feel comfortable and safe under my care. When you come for your first visit, I'll provide a one-page intake form for you to fill out. Not only will I consider the information you've written, but I will listen to what you have to say about your activities of daily living (ADLs) in order to get an overview of what repetitive strain you may be placing on your musculoskeletal system, including emotional stress which reflects in the tissues. After the physical evaluation, which doesn't take but 15 minutes or so, the session will begin. All pressure will be gauged to your comfort level. I'll explain what I am doing and why, unless, of course, you prefer peace and quiet... which I will respect. When the session is complete, I'll wait for you in the next room where I'll provide and explain your self-care instructions. There is no cost for the evaluation and self-care. I learned craniosacral first, but then learned I had to be a licensed massage therapist in order to use craniosacral therapy - so i got LMT license.
