I typically work with clients at the office 4 days a week (M, T, TH, F), working day and evening hours. In addition, I perform location chair massage and in-home massage therapy sessions. My area of focus is pregnancy massage, but I see a wide range of clients with a variety of needs from relaxation to specific therapeutic work. My clients range in age from 6 mos to late 80's. I have been trained to work with and find the causes for neck pain, shoulder pain, arm pain, hand pain, hip pain, back pain, leg pain, foot pain, headaches and more. Knowing that postural habits are the usual cause for our pain and that every client is unique, I perform a free physical evaluation before your session, which is crucial to the success of massage therapy. Not only is my practice about the work, but it is of utmost importance to me that you feel comfortable and safe under my care. When you come for your first visit, I'll provide a one-page intake form for you to fill out. Not only will I consider the information you've written, but I will listen to what you have to say about your activities of daily living (ADLs) in order to get an overview of what repetitive strain you may be placing on your musculoskeletal system, including emotional stress which reflects in the tissues. After the physical evaluation, which doesn't take but 15 minutes or so, the session will begin. All pressure will be gauged to your comfort level. I'll explain what I am doing and why, unless, of course, you prefer peace and quiet... which I will respect. When the session is complete, I'll wait for you in the next room where I'll provide and explain your self-care instructions. There is no cost for the evaluation and self-care. You will be charged for the hands-on work only.

I have been in practice for 18 years now, specializing in post-injury, deep tissue and relaxation treatments. Each session is geared toward what the client/patients needs are. Because of my work experience at a local hospital doing bedside massage for patients for almost 14 years, my medical massage experiece has been pivotal in my private practice. Our philosophy is that massage therapy is a powerful too to bring the body into balance and out of pain. Much of the pain felt in our bodies is because of soft tissue imbalances that create strain patterns that over time cause pain. Our bodies are continually fighting gravity and the day to day wear and tear of life by being plastic and compensating to do our daily activities. We are blissfully unaware of how much our body is twisting, and bending and compressing to adapt. This strategy works well. But over time these compensations lead to pain. We use advanced massage therapy techniques to unwind these compensations and decompress and straighten the body so that there is less strain to cause the pain. It really is that simple. The challenging part is analyzing the body for postural distortions and strategically correcting the tissues. That is where we come in. Our main modality for correcting the structure is Structural Energetic Therapy (SET). SET unwinds the body and brings it into balance. Aloha, my name is Bill Seemann, owner of Hawaii Medical & Sports Massage. I am both Hawaii State licensed and Nationally Certified in therapeutic massage. For the past 11 years my primary focus has been to assist people in the recovery and prevention of soft-tissue injuries. A common question I'm asked is, "What kind of massage do you do?" Each individual is unique and so is each session depending on needs and requests. If someone comes to me with a pain condition, I look to muscular imbalances in the body to determine the cause of the pain. In most cases pain in one area is caused by an imbalance in another area. Through the implementation of myofascial release, deep tissue therapy, trigger point release and PNF stretching, I assist the client in re-establishing structural balance and the pain is relieved. When working with individuals who may not be experiencing pain, I tailor each treatment to address and meet their specific goals. The techniques are similar to those used in relieving pain, except that the focus is on pain prevention and enhanced quality of life. In many cases, I also apply kinesio taping at the end of the massage to help the client in their healing and wellness process.
