Our philosophy is that massage therapy is a powerful too to bring the body into balance and out of pain. Much of the pain felt in our bodies is because of soft tissue imbalances that create strain patterns that over time cause pain. Our bodies are continually fighting gravity and the day to day wear and tear of life by being plastic and compensating to do our daily activities. We are blissfully unaware of how much our body is twisting, and bending and compressing to adapt. This strategy works well. But over time these compensations lead to pain. We use advanced massage therapy techniques to unwind these compensations and decompress and straighten the body so that there is less strain to cause the pain. It really is that simple. The challenging part is analyzing the body for postural distortions and strategically correcting the tissues. That is where we come in. I am a deep tissue massage therapist/bodyworker. I specialize in Synergistic Myofascial Therapy. That is a form of very deep tissue myofascial work. The body work is performed on a table on top of the sheets. The client wears shorts (men), or sports bra and shorts or bathing suit (women). There is active movement on the part of the client and a good amount of stretching is involved. There is also little or no lotion involved. It is not a relaxing massage but very effective for athletes or people with chronic tight spots and problem areas. I am also undergoing certification in Active Isolated Stretching under Aaron Mattes. It is the most highly recognized form of stretching and sports massage in the country. I also perform regular type of massage and general deep tissue work. Hello my name is Maggie, and I give a very relaxing and gentle swedish massage. I always adapt my pressure to the level of comfort for my clients.I am Nationally Certified, and lisenced in the state of Florida. I just added Hot stone massage to my menu of services. Currently I work from home , and will do housecalls for couples, or regular clients only. I also do reiki treatments, and just became a reiki master teacher. I will probably be giving classes and attunements in the near future. Reiki is universal energy that once you get attuned to , can be used a s a healing tool for the self and others. It is very relaxing, and can be done fully clothed, in seated, or laying down position. For full body massage I use a table and proper draping. I also use a heating pad on the table, play soft music, diffuse essential oils and have candles lit to create a relaxing setting. On the skin I use either natural grapeseed oil, or all natural massage gel, and will give you a hot towel to wipe off afterwards if desired. My days for taking new clients are Mon, Tues. Fri & Sat. at this time.
