You Deserve to Look & Feel Your Best
Bringing Balance to Your Body
A little about me & my Health and Fitness philosophy: I am an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Wellcoach; so I tend to use the “whole body” approach – mind, body & spirit. If there is deficiency or congestion in any area, it will affect all. I like to make sure that my clients learn to listen to their bodies. There is no place for “No Pain No Gain” in my training, if it hurts don’t do it. We’ll find another way together. I believe that as we mature, stretching and flexibility are as important as strength training. My Personal training clients learn a complimentary stretch for all muscle groups they are working. I teach some simple strength and stretching exercises to my Massage client to help them achieve balance in their bodies. -Scott Coldwell

My practice is in Sayville,N.Y. on Sunrise Hwy.We are a wellness center. The office also consists of 2 chiropractors and we feature a total wellness approach to health care. I have been here for about 6 yrs.and I have a very diverse practice consisting of pediatrics as well as adults. My approach to wellness is the body as a whole. There is no denying the power of body work. Regardless of the adjectives we assign to it(therapeutic, rejuvenating, pampering)or the reasons we seek it out(stress relief, pain management,or a luxurious treat),massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen. Research continues to show the enormous benefits of touch--which range from treating chronic diseases, neurological disorders, and injuries,to alleviating the tensions of modern lifestyles.Consequently, the medical community is actively embracing bodywork, and massage is becoming an integral part of hospice care and neonatal intensive care units. Many hospital are also incorporating on-site massage practitioners and even spas to treat postsurgery or pain patient as part of the recovery process. Furthermore, clients often report a sense of perspective and clarity after receiving a massage. The emotional balance bodywork provides can often be just as vital and valuable as the more tangible physical benefits. In response to massage, specific physiological and chemical changes cascade throughout the body, with profound effects. This translates into: Decrease anxiety. Enhance sleep quality. Greater energy. Improve concentration. Increase circulation. Reduce fatigue. High blood pressure patients demonstrate lower diastolic blood pressure, anxiety and stress hormones. Research shows that with massage: Asthmatic CHILDREN show better pulmonary function and increased peak air flow. Preterm INFANTS have improved weight gain. Arthritis sufferers note fewer aches and less stiffness and pain. Premenstrual syndrome sufferers have decreased water retention and cramping. Burn injury patients report reduced pain, itching and anxiety. Getting a massage can do you a world of good. And getting a massage frequently can do even more. This is the beauty of bodywork.Taking part in this form of regularly scheduled self-care can play a huge part in how healthy you'll be and how youthful you'll remain with each passing year. And remember:just because massage feels like a pampering treat doesn't mean it is any less therapeutic. Consider massage appointments a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan.We will work together to establish a treatment schedule that best meets your needs.

Massage Therapist
Islip, NY 11751
We wanted to create a wellness center which focused on providing the highest quality and outcome based care available to our clients. Over the last 7 years, we have built our practice by referrals. Many of our clients have relied on our services for their health care needs since our opening in 2001. People are overworked and overstressed. So, we settled into a lakeside cottage that enables people to truly relax and unwind. It is not at all unusual for people to come into our office and remark on how a sense of calm comes over them as soon as they arrive. When someone calls for an appointment, their first contact is with a massage therapist, not a receptionist. Only by determining the client's true needs, can we determine the best treatment option and therapist for them. Our practice is very diverse. We treat people afflicted with many different conditions. Some serious, some simply need to relax, some with acute pain, some with chronic pain. For this reason, we practice many different therapies. Each has it's own benefit and focus. Our therapists' focus are diverse as well. Our interests vary from Swedish Massage to Deep Tissue and from Reiki to Reflexology and much more. Whatever our clients need, we are able to provide a treatment that will alleviate pain, reduce stress, and allow the body to regain it's balance. Each treatment is customized to our clients comfort and needs. We look forward to meeting you.

The Benefits Of Massage Alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion. Assist with shorter, easier labor for expectant mothers and shorten maternity hospital stays. Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body's natural defense system. Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles. Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts. Improve the condition of the body's largest organ—the skin. Increase joint flexibility. Lessen depression and anxiety. Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks. Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation. Reduce postsurgery adhesions and swelling. Reduce spasms and cramping. Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles. Release endorphins—amino acids that work as the body's natural painkiller. Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress. This translates into: Decreased anxiety. Enhanced sleep quality. Greater energy. Improved concentration. Increased circulation. Reduced fatigue.
