SEVA [say-va] is a sanskrit term that means, “string”, in English. It implies a greater connection between all things, where to serve one is to serve the whole. It is about offering ones gifts and talents to the community whenever there is need. SEVA comes from a place of love, compassion, and respect. SEVA reflects my approach as a massage therapist in that I strive to help my clients attain physical and mental balance by eliciting their awareness of the mind-body-spirit connection through the power of healing touch. I believe that if we can achieve peace within the individual, both physically and emotionally, then we are one step closer to co-existing in universal harmony.

i practice barefoot shiatsu massage primarily. the work harmonizes the network of energy meridians that run throughout the body. a complete shiatsu will visit every acupressure point on the body, open all the joints, stretch and massage all the muscles, and even polish the bones. this treatment of the body as a whole allows the client to come to their own unique balance after all of their buttons have been reset. i also teach five element theory, meditation, qi gong, diet, magnet therapy and moxabustion to aide in the clients sustained well-being and continued growth after the session.

I specialize in deep tissue and trigger point work but have been trained in many modalities including swedish, shiatsu and pregnancy. I have been practicing for 3 years and have national certification from the NCBTMB. I am based in Oakland but am willing to travel the bay area. Since my work is very interactive, I will always give you some type of work to do in between sessions.This can be in the form of self-Reiki, self-Abdominal Massage, a particular meditation or Chi Kung exercise, inner child writing to name a few. Because of this, a session may last longer than or less than 1 hour. Due to the nature and commitment involved in wellness work of this type, I highly recommend that you plan to schedule at least 4 sessions to be able to see the effects of the work over a period of time.
