I discovered Bowen Therapy after having extensive treatment for RSI. I had been suffering from acute wrist pain for over two years, cortizone injections anti-inflammatory tablets, MRI scans. You name it, I’d had it... but I was still in agony.
One day, I was passing a clinic that offered free consultations. Not expecting a great deal, but out of desperation, I went in. The therapist offered to treat me there and then, and after about 20 minutes, he said, "There you are Nikki. tomorrow morning when you wake up, you’ll feel better"
"Right", I thought. "How could that be?" The treatment hadn’t hurt. In fact I’d felt very little at all. Moreover I hadn’t waited 6 weeks for an appointment to see another specialist following a visit to my GP. Impossible!
But when woke up the next day, the pain that I had lived with for over two years had completely disappeared!
Bear in mind, what made it so incredible was that I had not believed it was possible. It was not a question of mind over matter. Quite the opposite in fact. I became a Bowen Therapist because I had not believed it was possible for such a dramatic change to be achieved in such a gentle, simple manner.
Since that wonderful day, thanks to Bowen Therapy, I no longer suffer from RSI, and another amazing improvement is that although still an asthmatic, I no longer need my inhaler, which I used to use daily.
Eventually I opened my own clinic in Eastbourne, so that I could introduce Bowen Therapy to more people. It is still very much unknown; even my GP had never heard of it. My job is to help as many people as possible get relief from the pain or discomfort they may have been suffering from for many years, through Bowen Therapy. |
