Atlantic Massage & Muscular Therapies, LLC
Offering Healing Medical Massage in a Safe Ambient Space
Securely draped or fully clothed for your comfort.
I have been trained to work with and find the causes for neck pain, shoulder pain, arm pain, hand pain, hip pain, back pain, leg pain, foot pain, headaches and more. Knowing that postural habits are the usual cause for our pain and that every client is unique, I perform a free physical evaluation before your session, which is crucial to the success of massage therapy.
Not only is my practice about the work, but it is of utmost importance to me that you feel comfortable and safe under my care. When you come for your first visit, I'll provide a one-page intake form for you to fill out. Not only will I consider the information you've written, but I will listen to what you have to say about your activities of daily living (ADLs) in order to get an overview of what repetitive strain you may be placing on your musculoskeletal system, including emotional stress which reflects in the tissues.
After the physical evaluation, which doesn't take but 15 minutes or so, the session will begin. All pressure will be gauged to your comfort level. I'll explain what I am doing and why, unless, of course, you prefer peace and quiet... which I will respect. When the session is complete, I'll wait for you in the next room where I'll provide and explain your self-care instructions. There is no cost for the evaluation and self-care. You will be charged for the hands-on work only.
Education/Training
1995-The School of Healing Arts, Pacific Beach, Ca:
My initial training in massage therapy was completed in Pacific Beach at The School of Healing Arts in 1995. Attending that curriculum was one of the best decisions I've ever made. It set my life in a new direction for which I'll be forever thankful.
2003-Nashua Community College:
Soon after a job transfer from Santa Cruz, Ca. to Nashua in 2000 with my old career at Texas Instruments, I decided to attend the promising massage therapy program at NCC, under the direction of the respected and late Bob Adams. After completing the massage therapy program at NCC, I had gained enough knowledge to instruct two massage therapy programs with Premiere Education, Inc. for two years, in Malden, Mass. and Manchester, NH. I found the teaching experience to be an education in itself.
2010- The Muscular Wellness Institute, Bow, NH:
To become certified in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (CNMT) through the expertise of Jeff Mahadeen at his superb Muscular Wellness Institute in Bow, NH., was the greatest turning point for my confidence as a bodyworker and for the growth of my clientele.
2020 to Currently-The Freedom from Pain Institute, LLC, Oklahoma:
Over the last two years I've studied with the renown Erik Dalton of The Freedom From Pain Institute, and will graduate soon as a Muscular Alignment Technique (MAT) specialist.
Bio
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I am available to chat so please feel free to call with any questions you may have. I love explaining what I do!
There's nothing like the gratification felt when I'm able to heal and alleviate pain. This is why I've continued with massage therapy as a vocation since 1995. My knowledge of the musculature of the body and massage therapy techniques has increased over the years and I'm grateful that my business has grown along with it, to where it has been my sole vocation since 2005.

Joe was awesome. He evaluated my body and tailored the massage to what I needed. He also gave me exercises and stretches to do on my own to help my problem areas for the long term. I’ll be back!

Joe knows his stuff and gives you real and therapeutic body work- not a "spa" experience that does nothing in the long run. The best thing about Joe is how much he genuinely cares...

Joe is exceptionally knowledgeable, thorough and effective. I drive past many other specialists to get to Joe - worth the extra travel.
