Additional expertise in working with clients who are undergoing treatment for cancer. In addition to working previously in community medicine (rural and urban AmeriCorps projects) and medical research (oncology and internal medicine clinical trials) I work as a volunteer energy medicine practitioner and teacher at a non-profit clinic in San Francisco, serving low income women who are living with and being treated for cancer. I've also offered treatments and classes to staff, patients, veterans, and their families at the San Francisco Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Bio:

After suffering from severe chronic pain for many years following serious bicycling accident, I was desperate for relief. Some of the many different medical approaches I tried helped to some degree, but not enough to allow me to be fully functional. When a friend recommended a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, I was highly skeptical, but also curious, so decided to try one treatment. I ended up being so impressed with the results from that one treatment that I left my work in medical research so I could study to become a practitioner myself. A few years later I also fell in love with Reiki and animal Reiki, and incorporated those practices into my treatments and classes as well. I am so happy to be able to help others who are in the same situation I was in before I discovered energy healing.

I've found that working with animals makes me a better practitioner with people, and vice versa. A life-long animal lover, I have experience caring for a wide variety of animals, domesticated and wild, and have been fortunate enough to also offer Reiki and JSJ to many animals of all kinds. Both modalities are joyful ways to deepen the connection and bond between human and human or human and animal.
