I practice massage therapy to help you and other people who are suffering with pain and discomfort from lower back injuries, sports accidents, inequalities in the length of your legs, and defects in your posture. Relieving your pain is my driving concern.
I am dedicated to studying the most advanced analysis and therapy techniques as quickly as they are revealed at the highest levels of academia and on the Internet. During your massage, I educate you about the muscles that need extra attention and why I am performing the type of massage.
I graduated from the Texas School of Massage, in Houston, Texas, with grades of “A” in every class and scored 817 points out of a possible 900 (91%) on the MBLEX license examination.
I perform Prenatal, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Techniques, P.R.N., Sports, Swedish - Relaxation, Reciprocal Inhibition Techniques,Prenatal massage, and Trigger Point massage. Trigger points are very sensitive “taut bands and nodules” in the muscles. They restrict range of motion, cause local and referred pain, and rob muscle of energy. Recently, I have developed skills working with adults with Cerebral Palsy.
By releasing adhesions between the layers of muscle and skin, called "myofascial release," your body's nature system of lubrication can be restored. Learn about "the Fuzz" and how it can be broken.
I have recently acquired new skills in working with adults with Cerebral Palsy.
I am currently studying Manual Lymphatic Drainage. This is a complex and delicate therapy that people who have had cancer surgery and people who cannot exercise, such as people who are bed ridden, need.

My advanced studies include: an advance seminar in Rolfing (sm); video presentations of Tom Meyers’ “Body Reading” and Eric Dalton’s “Advance Release Techniques”; Dr. William Butler’s “Sports Massage Therapy Course”; an Introduction to Reflexology, by Patricia McPherson; portions of Tom Meyers’ pacesetting “Anatomy Trains” and the highly technical “Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction, The Trigger Point Manual, Volume One,” written by Dr. Janet Travell and Dr. David Simons. I am studying Mark Beck’s “Theory & Practice of Therapeutic Massage”; Whitney Lowe’s “Orthopedic Massage Theory and Technique”; Dr. J.V. Cerney’s “Acupuncture Without Needles”; and Toru Namikoshi’s “The Complete Book of Shiatsu Therapy.”
Bio
I began learning massage when I was only 10 years old. My mother was bedridden for 2 ½ years after she broke her neck in a car wreck. I gave her massage every day, to prevent bed pressure injury, muscle atrophy, and relieve her pain. I continued practically every day, until I left home at the age of 17.
As a Licensed Massage Therapist, I have added formal education in Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Pathology, Hydrotherapy, and Massage to my "hands on" experience.
