Invigorating Massage Therapy
Investing in Massage is an Investment in Your Health
Rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit with a relaxing yet invigorating massage. My special massage techniques help to reverse the negative effects of stress, repair damaged muscle tissue, and remove pain throughout your body.
I combine Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Sports massage techniques that include facilitated stretching, or I could tailor a healing massage just for you depending on your specific needs.
Services are provided in a private, clean and safe environment on a table using clean linens. A heated pad is also used on cooler days or by special request. I use non-scented oil or lotion, and music plays in the background to further enhance your experience. A shower is also available if needed.
Education/Training
I received my formal massage training from the McKinnon Body Therapy Center located in Oakland CA. I'm trained and certified in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Sports Massage modalities. I received my California state license certification in 2012 as a Certified Massage Practitioner.
Bio
I enjoy making clients feel good about their bodies regardless of their age, size, or condition and find it very rewarding knowing that I can make a positive difference in the way a person feels. I know exactly what it feels like to live with life’s aches and pains from strenuous wear and tear on the body. I fell into the field of massage therapy work as a client having sustained sports-related vertebrae disc injuries to my lower back and neck. After years of massage, yoga, medication, physical and chiropractic therapy, I was able turn my fate around into helping others through the gift of touch.
I consider myself an aging athlete who enjoys staying active. I've played amateur soccer for most of my life in local recreational league, as well as national and international competition tournaments. Alternative to playing soccer I work out at the gym or practice Bikram yoga and on occasion I get out on the tennis court. I've run marathon races in San Francisco ('84 & '86) and New York ('94) so I know a thing or two about athletic training having also participated in the AIDS Lifecycle (ALC). I volunteered as a therapist for the ALC Massage Team in 2012 and 2013 working on hundreds of cyclists all the way to L.A and even rode as a cyclist myself in 2007 and 2014.
