Mission Statement

Hands For Health Massage offers Therapeutic Massage for ALL people, keeping prices affordable so everyone can enjoy the benefit of massage. Various venues are available, and accordingly, prices vary.

What is Therapeutic Massage?

Massage is a manual manipulation of the body's soft tissue for the purpose of stimulating circulation and promoting relaxation. It has been used in many world cultures for more than 4,000 years. Massage allows you a quiet time to focus on yourself and become more connected to your body.

Massage is generally used for the reduction of stress and pain. It has been shown to boost the immune system as well.

Since most diseases are exacerbated by stress, massage can help you become and stay healthier.

Massage can help with the following:

stress reduction
anxiety
relaxation
muscle aches and pains
sleep problems
depression
immune system function
What is Swedish Massage?

Swedish massage is primarily used for relaxation. Cream or oil may be used with light strokes. Usually, this is a full body massage. You may want to have some areas skipped or opt to have me work on all of your body. It is important to express your wishes at the time of your appointment.

What is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep Tissue massage is a goal-oriented massage. With this type of work, I may use my forearms, elbows or thumbs to apply pressure. Deep tissue work can be used in conjunction with Swedish massage to loosen the muscles in a specfic area,or by itself for a mini-target session.

What is Myofascial Massage?

Myofascial massage is the slowest type of body work. This type of work is used to relieve aches and pains. Lotions are not used. Instead, I will apply pressure, using the palm of my hand or finger tips. You may be asked to breathe during this session, or move your arms or legs during a stroke so that muscles be better accessed.

What Can I Expect During My Massage?

Before your massage, I will gather information about you, such as any allergies, recent surgeries, illnesses or accidents, whether you are pregnant, what medications you are taking, if you have had a massage before, the type of massage and how long ago it was.

After my initial assessment, you will have a few minutes to yourself in the room to get onto the massage table. I will leave the room, so you may have privacy. At this point, you may get undressed, taking off only the amount of clothing that you are comfortable with. Your modisty is always protected by draping.

During the session, I will check with you about the pressure of my work. You should speak up at any time you feel an adjustment in pressure is needed. I want you to be sure you get the most out of your time with me.

How do I make an appointment?

You must have an appointmnt to receive massage therapy. Please call to schedule.

Bio
My path to bodywork, massage and energy therapy began while I lived in Ireland (1997 - 2000) where I began learning about a holistic approach to health. I studied and was certified by Ocean County Vo-Tech in 2002. I have been trained by some of the best in their fields, from Swedish Massage, Raindrop Therapy, Pre & Perinatal Massage, Cranio-sacral Therapy, Healing Touch just to name a few.

A bodywork session with me will usually be a combination of all the tools at my disposal. Always including but not limited to Healing Touch/Energy Healing. Most of my clients are, at the very least, amused by my ability to find 'just the right spot' to work on.

You can expect soft music, dim lighting, clean linen, top quality essential oils and massage cream, and the amount of time you are paying for. I do not have 50 minute hours!

I never overbook, when you come to see me you can expect me to be ready to receive you and never in a hurry to finish the session. My goal is always your highest good.

If you are 65+ years of age, please ask for a 10% senior discount.
