Therapeutic Hands for Hire
I am skilled in MyoFascial Release, Perinatal, Reflexology, Integrative, Neuromuscular, Swedish, Trigger Point, Sports and Chair Massage. My massages are specifically designed for each individual body because no two bodies are the same. I give therapeutic massage with the intention of the client getting physical benefits to relieve stress and pain. Not everyone is a candidate for deep tissue massage but I do specialize in it for the clients who's central nervous systems realize their body needs it and have adapted to the deeper. more intense pressure. I am a former weight lifting athlete for 25 years and also suffered a few injuries along the way to realize the importance of individualizing the massage to each person's needs and expected outcomes from the therapy. Your job, your lifestyle, physical activities, etc. all play a major role for which techniques to use specific to your body. Your medical history also plays a role in what tools (modalities) to use during the massage.

Hydration is something that is very important for you to do before and after the massage. Very important to drink plenty of water, (No not beer, wine, etc.) to flush the toxins out of your body following the massage. When we manipulate muscle and connective tissue, we store toxins in our tissue, we massage therapists release toxins through manipulation. If you do not drink water you will become sore and feel badly afterwards.
I grew up here in the state of Florida. I lived in Dunedin for a good portion of my life. I graduated from high school here and started college. I did not complete college. I took up bodybuilding where I was introduced to anatomy and physiology. I learned how to train my muscles and eat cleanly. I intensely studied the muscles and was addicted to the human anatomy from that point forward. Later on I went to practical nursing school and became a practical nurse. I worked in the field for about 8 years. After that, I worked in gyms and lifted in them. I trained women who were out of shape. I had competed in competitive bodybuilding for many years in addition to the work experience. It wasn't until later on after suffering injuries from a car wreck and being diagnosed with fibromyalgia that I need to be more proactive with my health and physical state. The car wreck left me with lumbar and cervical injuries. I was disabled for about 6 years. A little voice inside my head steered me to studying massage. Actually it was my then 18 year old daughter who asked me to look it up for her. She lost interest but I was attending school a month later in Kissimee, FL. I intensely studied my favorite subject once again..human anatomy and physiology.
