Education/Training
Over 1500 continuing education hours, including extensive aromatherapy studies with Kurt Schnaubelt, PhD; James Symes, PhD; Jeffrey Yuen, DOM and Michael Scholes. Bodywork education includes 3 different schools of craniosacral therapy and direct studies with Bruno Chikly, MD, and Alaya Chikly, LMT, in lymphatic drainage and somatoemotional integration. One of the few therapists to have attended the ground-breaking M.D. Anderson Cancer Center massage for the cancer patient course. Additionally, Katharine attends and/or exhibits at numerous conferences on aromatherapy, herbal therapies and integrative medicine.
Bio
Katharine Koeppen, founder of Aromaceuticals, is passionate about plants and has been practicing clinical aromatherapy for nearly fifteen years. She is one of the few practitioners to have received the title of registered aromatherapist (RA) from the Aromatherapy Registration Council and is also nationally certified in therapeutic bodywork. Katharine is a popular instructor and speaker on the subject of aromatics and healing, and her audiences have included community support groups, nurses, psychotherapists, massage therapists and naturopathic physicians.
After two decades in a fast paced, creative advertising career, curiosity about natural perfumes led her to an aromatherapy class at a local herb store, and she has never looked back. Katharine studied aromatics with several industry luminaries and regularly attends conferences to keep up with the latest approaches in botanical and integrative medicine. Utilizing a bodymind approach to aromatherapy, she simultaneously addresses a client’s emotional and psycho-spiritual state while dealing with their physical illness or imbalance. Her background also includes extensive studies in somato-emotional integration, craniosacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, flower essences and the culinary arts.
She resides in Dallas, Texas, where she maintains a heart-centered private practice in aromatherapy, specializing in somato-emotional integration, cancer support and women’s issues. When not experimenting with essential oils, Katharine can be found herb gardening or practicing ikebana.
