Massage Therapy Can Really Help!
9/23/13
A chronic disease can force a person to cut down on their physical activity and spend many hours either sitting down or lying in bed. If this has ever happened to you as you recuperated from an operation or an accident, you know how difficult it can be and how uncomfortable. The painful fact is, sitting in the same position doing nothing or lying in bed doing the same thing can actually become extremely uncomfortable and can sometimes even be downright painful.
The reason is simple; muscles are made for movement. If, due to an illness, a person is forced to lie recumbent or to sit in a special chair for days on end, their muscles will atrophy (get smaller) and get weaker. If that person is lying in the same position for many hours it can cause muscle spasms as well as bedsores, which can be extremely painful.
That’s why here at Complete Therapies our main focus is on our patient’s musculature and making sure that, while they’re recuperating, they don’t lose too much muscle tone. Our team of licensed medical massage therapists are muscle experts and their gentle touch can bring much-needed relief and comfort. Massage therapy has been used for eons to help reduce pain, inflammation and soreness and we’re proud to carry on that tradition.
By coming to your home directly we can provide our healing therapies in a place that our patients know and feel secure. Many people that are bedridden find that their massage therapy is the highlight of their day. Not only that, but massage therapy has been shown to be very effective in situations where a person’s normal senses are disoriented by their treatments or medications.
For people suffering from cerebral palsy, autism, brain injuries or other traumas that have affected the cognizant abilities, massage therapy can be a vital link to a world beyond that person’s own mind. Children with developmental disabilities and behavior issues respond very positively to medical massage therapy, adding to the list of its incredible benefits.
At the end of the day, what we provide here at Complete Therapies is quality of life. By providing a much-needed service we give people relief from their suffering, a little bit of hope and something to look forward to on a regular basis. The benefits of medical massage therapy go far beyond simply relieving muscular pain and, if someone you love is suffering, is worth looking into. If you live in the Dallas / Ft.
